TunerSuite vs MyTuningPortal — 2026 Comparison

TL;DR: TunerSuite Ultra costs £699 one-time with a self-hosted option, complete source-level control, included AI ECU analyzer, and 24/7 support available on managed hosting from £49.99/month. MyTuningPortal costs €1,100 setup plus €50/month forever with no self-hosted option and no AI analysis features. Over five years, TunerSuite saves roughly €3,100. This post walks through the full comparison with sourced data.

Company backgrounds

MyTuningPortal is a Belgian software company that has been selling a white-label dealer portal since around 2014. Their primary model is a managed SaaS — you pay monthly, they host everything. Their sales page markets the portal as “the biggest white-label platform dedicated to tuning file services with 10+ years industry experience.”

TunerSuite Ultra is built by indie developer Ionut Popescu (the author of this post), launched in 2024. The platform is deployed in eight countries across France, Mexico, UK, Italy, Turkey, the US, India, and others. The core differentiator is the self-hosted deployment option — customers can install on their own server with full infrastructure control, or take managed hosting if preferred. Both models use the same codebase.

Pricing deep dive

This is where the two platforms diverge most dramatically. Let’s look at actual advertised prices as of April 2026.

MyTuningPortal pricing

From the MyTuningPortal sales page: “MyTuningPortal’s file portal software for dealers and tuners costs 315 € initially and 50 € every month” — with packages ranging up to €1,100 setup depending on features. There is no one-time payment option, no self-hosted option, and the monthly fee continues for as long as you use the portal. If you stop paying, the portal stops working.

TunerSuite Ultra pricing

TunerSuite Ultra has two deployment models at dramatically different price points:

  • Self-hosted: £699 one-time early adopter license (first 50 licenses only — 88 remain). Lifetime core updates included. Install on any VPS costing €5-10/month. Total first-year cost: about £760.
  • Managed hosting Starter: £49.99/month, we host everything on our infrastructure with 24/7 support and sub-30-minute issue resolution. First-year cost: £600.
  • Managed hosting Professional: £80/month, dedicated resources, AI ECU priority, priority support.
  • Managed hosting Enterprise: £120/month, dedicated VPS, phone support, 24/7 monitoring.

5-year total cost of ownership

Platform Year 1 5-Year Total
TunerSuite self-hosted £760 £999
TunerSuite managed (Starter) £600 £3,000
MyTuningPortal €1,700 ~€4,100

At current exchange rates, TunerSuite self-hosted saves roughly €3,100 over five years compared to MyTuningPortal. Even the managed hosting Starter option saves about €1,100 over the same period — while giving you 24/7 support that MyTuningPortal doesn’t advertise publicly.

The self-hosted question

MyTuningPortal’s own sales page explicitly rules out self-hosting. From their “questions we get” section: “We understand that you may prefer to host our portal software on your own server, but unfortunately, it’s not possible. Our software is highly complex and requires a specific server setup.”

That’s a policy decision, not a technical one. Plenty of complex web applications run perfectly well on self-managed servers — TunerSuite is the proof. The reason cloud portals resist self-hosting is that it eliminates the vendor’s recurring revenue stream. If you own the software outright, they can’t charge you monthly forever.

TunerSuite Ultra gives you both options. If you want the operational simplicity of a managed SaaS, take managed hosting. If you want the price and ownership of a self-hosted install, take the £699 license. Same platform either way, and you can switch between them without losing data.

Who should choose MyTuningPortal

I’ll be honest — MyTuningPortal has a real audience. If you specifically want:

  • A 10-year-established vendor with a track record in the chiptuning industry
  • Cloud-only hosting with no option for self-management, because you want to remove the infrastructure decision entirely
  • The reassurance of knowing the vendor has been around for a decade

MyTuningPortal delivers all of that. They are a real company with real customers. The trade-offs you accept are: higher long-term cost, no self-hosted option, no AI analysis features, and an ongoing relationship you can’t exit without losing your portal.

Who should choose TunerSuite Ultra

TunerSuite is the better fit if any of these apply:

  • You want maximum control over your customer data and infrastructure
  • You’d rather pay £699 once than €50/month forever
  • You value having AI ECU analysis and map comparison built in
  • You want the option to switch between self-hosted and managed without data loss
  • You need 24/7 support with fast issue resolution on the hosting tier
  • You want to see a fully-functional live demo with admin access before buying

How to migrate from MyTuningPortal

If you’re already on MyTuningPortal and considering the move, the process is straightforward. Export your customer and order data from MyTuningPortal’s admin panel. Install TunerSuite (either self-hosted or managed). Use the built-in CSV migration tools to import everything. Switch your domain over. Done. Free CSV migration is included in every TunerSuite license, and we help directly if you get stuck. See the dedicated migration guide for step-by-step instructions.

New in TunerSuite for 2026

Since this comparison was first written, TunerSuite has shipped a wave of capabilities that widen the gap with cloud-only portals — all included in the one-time licence, no add-ons:

  • Vehicle Hub — type a UK number plate (or pick the car) and get a full spec sheet, the correct ECU with tool-compatibility, catalogue-verified power & torque gains with dyno curves, and a branded PDF quote in seconds.
  • Live chat, Telegram & AI support — real-time chat on every file request (attach the tuned file and it is delivered as a versioned revision), a staff Telegram bot with number-plate lookup, and an optional AI support assistant grounded in your own knowledge base.
  • Per-dealer master control — switch any feature (Dyno Studio, AI tools, hubs, even individual dashboard widgets) on or off per sub-dealer from the master, applied instantly, with four per-dealer billing modes. A slave portal has the same features as a standalone; who tunes is whatever master and dealer agree.
  • Solo or team — run a clean, full-featured solo portal, then switch the technician system on when you hire.
  • Any volume — no file caps in the software; the same platform serves a one-person shop or a large-scale operation processing thousands of files a day.
  • Live in minutes — with managed hosting you set your domain and admin account at checkout, point one DNS record, and the portal is ready to roll within minutes.
