What is the difference between clearing and removing a DTC?
Clearing a DTC with a diagnostic tool erases the stored code but the monitoring is still active — the code will return. Removing a DTC disables the monitoring routine in the ECU calibration, so the code can never trigger again.
Can you remove any fault code?
We can remove virtually any emissions, sensor, or aftertreatment-related DTC. Safety-critical codes (ABS, airbag, steering) are handled case-by-case.
Will this pass an MOT emissions test?
DTC removal is intended for off-road and motorsport use. A vehicle with modified emissions systems may not pass an MOT visual or emissions test.
Can I combine DTC removal with a remap?
Absolutely. DTC removal is often included as part of DPF, EGR, or remap packages when specific codes need suppressing.
