TL;DR: Bensky is a well-established, decade-old dealer portal with strong integrations to WinOLS and the ECU tuning tool ecosystem, but it’s cloud-only and requires an ongoing subscription. TunerSuite Ultra adds a self-hosted option, AI ECU analysis, map comparison with stage detection, and a £699 one-time pricing path. Pick Bensky if you need deep WinOLS automation right now; pick TunerSuite if you want ownership, lower long-term cost, and the AI features.
What Bensky is good at
Bensky has been selling ECU file portal software since the early 2010s and has deep roots in the tuning community. Their dealer portal at fileportal.bensky.co.uk and the adjacent C4L1BRATE Ltd offering share an ecosystem that includes WinOLS LUA automation, Bosch DTC code lookup, ECU family search, and marketing support bundled with the portal.
The most distinctive Bensky feature is automated file processing tied to the WinOLS database — the portal can decrypt slave files, look up matching ECU family definitions, run automatic tuning routines, and return the modified file without manual intervention. For high-volume shops already deeply invested in the WinOLS workflow, that’s genuinely valuable.
Where Bensky falls short
The positioning is entirely cloud-first. There is no self-hosted option. You cannot install Bensky on your own server, you cannot move your data off their infrastructure without help, and your portal is only accessible as long as you maintain the vendor relationship.
Bensky doesn’t publicly list pricing, which makes direct comparison difficult. Based on common ranges in the industry for this feature set, you can expect mid-tier subscription costs that compound over years. There is also no public AI ECU file analyzer with heat-mapped viewer — the feature that most separates modern portals from the 2018 generation.
TunerSuite’s position
TunerSuite Ultra launched in 2024 and approaches the same problem differently. Rather than deep integration with one upstream tuning tool, it provides a strong portal foundation with native AI analysis and leaves the tuning workflow flexible. You bring your own WinOLS license, your own KESS/Autotuner/CMD hardware, and your own tuning process. The portal handles everything around that: customer management, payments, file delivery, invoicing, notifications, and automatic binary analysis.
The pricing model is the other big difference. TunerSuite Ultra is £699 one-time for the self-hosted early adopter license, or £50-120 per month for managed hosting with 24/7 support. You pick either based on how hands-on you want to be with server administration.

Who should choose Bensky
Pick Bensky if you’re running a high-volume operation that depends on WinOLS LUA automation and you need that integration on day one. Also pick it if you value a long-established vendor with a decade of industry presence and you don’t mind paying subscription fees indefinitely. Bensky and C4L1BRATE are legitimate, functional platforms for the right buyer.
Who should choose TunerSuite
Pick TunerSuite if any of these apply:
- You want to own the software outright with a £699 one-time payment
- You need the AI ECU analyzer and map comparison features out of the box
- You want data sovereignty and the ability to self-host on your own infrastructure
- You’re happy managing your own WinOLS workflow separately, outside the portal
- You prefer 24/7 managed support with sub-30-minute issue resolution on the hosting tier
- You want to see a live demo with full admin access before committing

New in TunerSuite for 2026
Since this comparison was first written, TunerSuite has shipped a wave of capabilities that widen the gap with cloud-only portals — all included in the one-time licence, no add-ons:
- Vehicle Hub — type a UK number plate (or pick the car) and get a full spec sheet, the correct ECU with tool-compatibility, catalogue-verified power & torque gains with dyno curves, and a branded PDF quote in seconds.
- Live chat, Telegram & AI support — real-time chat on every file request (attach the tuned file and it is delivered as a versioned revision), a staff Telegram bot with number-plate lookup, and an optional AI support assistant grounded in your own knowledge base.
- Per-dealer master control — switch any feature (Dyno Studio, AI tools, hubs, even individual dashboard widgets) on or off per sub-dealer from the master, applied instantly, with four per-dealer billing modes. A slave portal has the same features as a standalone; who tunes is whatever master and dealer agree.
- Solo or team — run a clean, full-featured solo portal, then switch the technician system on when you hire.
- Any volume — no file caps in the software; the same platform serves a one-person shop or a large-scale operation processing thousands of files a day.
- Live in minutes — with managed hosting you set your domain and admin account at checkout, point one DNS record, and the portal is ready to roll within minutes.
