Pick the kind of vehicle first
The request form opens on Car & van, Trucks, Machinery, Motorbikes or Marine, one Machinery choice covering tractors, agricultural and plant, rather than three separate trades, and everything after it narrows to that choice. Only the groups your own catalogue actually holds are offered.
The vehicle type is set per model, so a manufacturer that builds cars and motorcycles shows each under the right type, and a make that spans types never mixes a car with a bike. Choose engine ECU or gearbox TCU and the unit list changes with it; filter by fuel type and the engine list follows.

A truck is priced as a truck, everywhere
Heavy vehicles take more work, so they can cost more. On the vehicle-type pricing screen, set a flat surcharge, a multiplier, or both for trucks, tractors, agricultural and industrial vehicles. A truck-typed model is charged your truck price everywhere, including the price preview in the request form; your explicit choice always wins. Until you configure it, every price stays as it is.

Plant work pulled out of a queue full of cars
The requests list gains a row of vehicle filters beside the status ones, only where your requests actually span more than one kind, so a yard doing plant and heavy work can see those jobs on their own. The vehicle catalogue pages filter by type, and the catalogue records the reading method for each engine: OBD, bench, boot, BDM or JTAG, with a connection guide one click from the request form.

The embeddable vehicle widget names the kinds of vehicle your catalogue holds, cars, motorcycles, trucks, tractors, marine, as pills above the make list, only when there is genuinely more than one to choose from. You choose which kind it opens on, or hide the pills per page.
